We all have experienced moments of awe and wonder when seeing the sun setting or rising with the backdrop of the clouds and how it so stunning to see. Personally, I really enjoy the mountains. We live close by the the Smoky Mountains and that is one of our favorite vacation spots. It is amazing to have a picnic in the mountains next to where there is water flowing in a creek close by surrounded by nature. Or the amazement of the roar of the ocean when visiting Florida or any of the coast lines. Absolutely incredible to witness.
The scripture I posted above, Romans 1:20 speaks of the creation of the World. Who is the creator? Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…” I know there are many voices of reason in the world to dismiss this and suggest otherwise, but that is absurd. The Bible which is the Word of God has much to say about the beauty of God’s creation, in fact, in Genesis 1 He provided the detail that in 6 days He created everything and said, “It is good” and on the 7th day He rested. Mankind was the best of God’s creation. Genesis 1:26-27 “Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them male and female he created them.” I am sure that we have heard this account at some time even from childhood, however, do we really believe it? If there is a Creator, then we as mere human beings are accountable for our lives before Him…
Genesis 2: 21-24, “
21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man.
23 “At last!” the man exclaimed.
“This one is bone from my bone,
and flesh from my flesh!
She will be called ‘woman,’
because she was taken from ‘man.’”
24 This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”
Ultimately, they disobeyed God’s command to not eat from the the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:15) or else they would die (spiritually; not physically). They gave their authority away to satan, and from that point sin was inevitable. Prior to them making that choice both Adam and Eve had God come down and walked with them in the Garden of Eden.. wow! They were kicked out of the Garden of Eden because of disobedience (SIN) and as a result were under the curse of sin and death. God’s Word is amazing. It is not a boring book…quite the opposite. There was much sin with detailed description of these accounts in the Bible, and yes, there was/is consequence for sin (death). God is a Holy God, and before Jesus Christ we were not able to approach Him directly (since the fall of Adam and Eve).
John 3:16, “For God SO LOVED the world the He GAVE His ONE AND ONLY SON that whosoever believe in Him would not perish, but have EVERLASTING LIFE.”
God’s plan was to restore us back to relationship to Himself. However, if we choose to disobey Him and not believe (Accept) His Son Jesus Christ and turn from sin then we are under his wrath. Someone may say, What? God is love….Romans 5:9 “Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!”
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart (Proverbs 21:2). Romans 1:20 states that we are without excuse since God’s creation, His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen. I would encourage the reader to consider his/her ways, and search your heart. Ask the Lord to bring conviction by the power of the Holy Spirit, and repent of sin (hardness of heart). Proverbs 28:13, “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.”
